He is also a member of the influential “Committee on Assignments.”

Senator Mullis was first elected to the State Senate in 2000. He is from Chickamauga, and currently serves as an economic developer in northwest Georgia. He is married to Teresa Nichols of Dade County and has three children. He is also a member of the Chickamauga First Baptist Church.

Governor Nathan Deal has said “Sen. Mullis is a dedicated, proven leader. His insight and perspective on Northwest Georgia issues benefits his constituents and his leadership on transportation serves the entire state of Georgia. I look forward to working with him on behalf of all Georgians for many years to come. I’m proud to call him a friend.”

Mullis has been recognized by Georgia Trend magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Georgia for four consecutive years for his work on transportation and illegal immigration issues. Also, James Magazine has listed Senator Mullis as one of the Most Influential Political Leaders in Georgia for six consecutive years.
